VOLUNTEER FOR A MISSIONS TRIP

INTERESTED IN COMING ON A TRIP? HERE ARE THE BASICS OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

IAM currently has two trips per year; one medical and one surgical. We look for both medical and non-medical volunteers.

During our missions trips, we all fly to Haiti together as a group from Miami in order enter the country together. Normally our days begin around 7:00am when we eat breakfast together, which has been prepared and provided by the women in the orphanage. From there, we get ready for the day and head to clinic. On medical trips, the clinic is held in a local church that is about a 2 minute walk from our accommodations. For surgical trips, the team is transported to the hospital via a Tap Tap, about 15 minutes away. You can expect to work an 8-10 hour day. At the end of the work day, everyone heads back to the orphanage where dinner is provided.

HOW TO APPLY

If you would like to come on one of our upcoming trips, please apply via Managed Missions. Upon application, a deposit of $100 is due. Deposits must be accompanied by a completed application form and will go towards your trip cost.

Our trips are first come, first serve. The soft deadline for the upcoming January 2020 trip is September 1st. You can still apply after this date, but there is a chance the trip might be full. If you want to apply but are worried about making this deadline, please contact the trip leaders; for the medical trip email Molly and for the surgical trip email Jodie.

Once your application forms and initial payment are submitted and approved, you will receive a confirmation email from one of our trip leaders. At that point, you’ll receive a welcome packet with the information needed to purchase your airfare and other information pertinent for the upcoming trip. If you apply and are not accepted to go, you will be refunded the $100 application fee.
